Michael grew up in Dryden, Ontario and graduated from the University of Waterloo with a History degree. He then pursued additional studies and graduated from Red Deer College with a diploma in Business Administration.
He then entered a career in public practice, spending 7 years with MNP in Lacombe, Alberta, followed by 10 years with Colli
Michael grew up in Dryden, Ontario and graduated from the University of Waterloo with a History degree. He then pursued additional studies and graduated from Red Deer College with a diploma in Business Administration.
He then entered a career in public practice, spending 7 years with MNP in Lacombe, Alberta, followed by 10 years with Collins Barrow in Canmore, Alberta. During this time he worked through yet more studies to obtain his Certified General Accountant's designation in 2012.
An early enthusiast of QuickBooks Online, he was the first person in the Canadian Rockies to obtain the Intuit QuickBooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor certification.
Michael started Sovereign Cloud Accounting in March 2018 after seeing a need for local small business owners to become more integrated with cloud accounting.
Michael enjoys being active outdoors and during his non-accounting time successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa's highest mountain) in September 2007. He is also a world traveller having visited 27 countries to date, being Canada, United States, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Germany, Spain, Gibraltar, Andorra, Iceland, Greenland, Peru, Holland, Switzerland, France, Italy, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, England, Kenya, Tanzania, Malta, Cuba, Hungary, Slovakia, United Arab Emirates and Oman.
Michael is a 24th generation descendant of King Edward I of England (1239-1307).
And he is a zealous Winnipeg Jets and Chicago White Sox fan.

Raeanne grew up in Blackfalds, Alberta and graduated from the Global Tourism & Marketing program at Medicine Hat College with a diploma in Intercultural Tourism.
Raeanne has taken accounting and bookkeeping courses through Bow Valley College and after the birth of the first of her three children with Michael started her own home based book

Raeanne has recently taken the QuickBooks Online certification course and over the next few months will be taking on a more prominent role in Sovereign Cloud Accounting.
